Tallinn - Riga - Klaipeda - Kaunas - Vilnius
10 days tour in 3 Baltic countries visiting major attraction of the area including Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius and less known but still outstanding sites like Haapsalu, Cesis, Curonian spit (Neringa National Park) and Kaunas.

Day 1
Arrival to Tallinn. Hotel accommodation.
Day 2

We recommend you exploring Tallinn in depth. For the morning tour visit the most impressive tourist attractions of Tallinn, one of the purest medieval towns in Northern Europe. Must see areas of the Tallinn old town are the Town Hall square with medieval Town Hall surrounded with ancient buildings and winding streets around. Then climb up to the upper Tallinn to see the Danish King's Garden, and breathtaking panoramas of Tallinn from well-placed lookout points (the most famous being Patkuli). We recommend visiting Telliskivi neighbourhood in the afternoon which is hidden from tourists artistic part of the city. It is railroad station area by definition not so attractive to visit and the understanding appears to be misleading. Old residential - industrial quarters filled with outstanding street art, attractive restaurants and very close to the old town and usual tourist paths.
Day 3
Full day trip to Haapsalu - small resort town in Western Estonia. Narrow streets of the town are dominated by the impressive ruins of the 13th century Bishop's Castle. Enjoy discovering the Castle and maybe you will meet the famous local ghost - the White Lady. Take a walk to the sea shore and explore villas built in 19th - beginning of 20th century when the resort history has started. Haapsalu became famous for being resort for Russian Tzars and you can see big wooden nicely decorated railroad station building where Russian Tzar train was stopping. Evening return to Tallinn and accommodation in Tallinn.
Day 4

Leave Tallinn for Riga, the capital of Latvia. On arrival check in to Riga hotel. As the bus from Tallinn to Riga takes only 4 - 4.5 hours, and you will have some time in Riga on that day. Explore Riga's Old Town in the afternoon. We recommend visiting the most significant sights of Riga - the famous Cathedral, and square, the Church of St. Peter with its spectacular spire which gives a 360 degree panorama of Old Riga, the old Guild Houses, the Swedish Gate, the architectural ensemble Three Brothers, the House of the St. Jacob's Church, the Parliament House, Old Riga Castle, and view the many wonderfully restored buildings, now housing cosy restaurants, cafes, bars and souvenir shops.
Day 5
We recommend to explore the Art Nouveau district of Riga. At the beginning of 20th century, Riga became a very prosperous city and many new buildings were erected in the city that formed the new Art Nouveau district which made Riga famous. Explore rich decorated buildings and visit Art Nouveau Museum. Take a boat ride on Riga canal and Daugava River to see Latvian capital from the water.
Day 6
Full day trip to Gauja National Park. Visit Sigulda's new and old Castles. From the old castle you will see romantic view of Turaida Castle. You can also take cable car ride to the opposite bank of Gauja River to enjoy river valley views. Take the bus from Sigulda to Cesis. It takes only 40 min. to get to the one of the most amazing towns in Latvia. In Cesis you will see 13th century St John's Church, ruins of the old Castle and the new Castle, enjoy walking in the Old Town of Cesis and try Latvian cookies, sweets and other snacks in numerous cafeterias there. Have dinner and take the evening private coach back to Riga.
Day 7

Morning trip to Klaipeda - Lithuanian seaport. It takes 4 hours 30 min on the road. Accommodation at the hotel in Klaipeda. Explore Klaipeda in the afternoon. See Klaipeda Old Town which is small but distinctive from all other cities in the Baltic states - Klaipeda for 700 years was under the rule of Prussia and Germany. Therefore the architecture is more German than Baltic and the streets are clear straight which is unusual for the Baltic street planning. Enjoy walking along Dane River and front of the Curonian Lagoon where big cruise ships are stopping.
Day 8
Spend the day sightseeing and enjoying the tranquillity of the Lithuanian seaside resort located on the Curonian Spit. Walk on the Hill of Witches in the fishing village of Juodkrante, enjoy an unforgettable view from majestic 60-metre-high seashore dunes and explore fishermen village houses area in Nida. To get to Curonian Spit take ferry boat from ferry terminal at the mouth of Dane River (take the left side when walking along the river). The boat ride is just 10 minutes, and there is a bus stop at the terminal to go to Juodkrante and Nida. Take a ticket to Juodkrante and after exploring the town go to Nida from the same place that you alight. In the afternoon take the coach from Klaipeda to Kaunas and after 3 hour drive check in at your hotel in Kaunas.
Day 9

Today we have a day trip to the town of Druskininkai in Western Lithuania to enjoy real snow even during the Summer. The private coach will take you in 2.5 hours. Walk through the centre of Druskininkai to the cable car terminal and take the cable car over the trees to the Snow Arena. It has a ski chalet theme, so there are photo opportunities. You can rent all necessary equipment for mountain skiing and enjoy the ride. Main skiing track is 450 meter long and there is beginner's ski track in case you are not so experienced. In the evening take the coach back to Kaunas.
Day 10

Morning sightseeing tour of Kaunas with the local English speaking guide. The tour includes: the Old Town of Kaunas with St. George's Church, Kaunas Castle built at the confluence of Nemunas and Neris rivers, the courtyard of the Theological seminary, the Town Hall Square surrounded by former 16th - 18th century merchants' dwelling houses and baroque churches - the Jesuit Church and the Cathedral, the Church of Vytautas dating back to the 14th century and the Perkunas (Thunder) House (no visits inside); a walk on the central street - Liberty avenue - bustling with street vendors, musicians, full of cafes and souvenir shops. After sightseeing of Kaunas take bus to Vilnius. Hotel check in and exploring Vilnius on your own. The highlights to see in Vilnius - historical Old Town including Cathedral and its square, the University campus, Pilies street with historical and architectural monuments dating back to 16th -18th century, Gothic corner of Vilnius with St. Anne's and Bernadine churches, the former Town Hall square, the Dawn Gate with a miraculous icon of Virgin Mary, and the 17th-century Baroque church of St. Peter and Paul. Consider taking one or more of the themed self-guided walks arranged by Walkable Vilnius. If you have more time and stamina, we recommend visiting Uzupis - artistic part of Vilnius Old Town with numerous sculptures, wall paintings and other artefacts including the Constitution of Uzupis mounted on the wall in 33 languages including Sanskrit. Overnight in Vilnius
Day 11
Departure day. In case your flight is in the afternoon we highly recommend visiting Trakai - the ancient capital of Lithuania. Located 28 km from Vilnius, Trakai is now famous for its 15th century insular castle housing an exhibition of archaeological findings from the castle and Trakai area and 17th-18th century applied arts. The museum exposition depicts history of Lithuanian Grand Dukes and Trakai region in more recent times. But Trakai town is more than the castle - curved streets of the town, view of lakes surrounding Trakai, apart from that - there is one more - older, ruined- castle on the peninsula of Lake Galve. Trakai is quite close to Vilnius. There are also other points of interest, including the Trakai History Museum, which has an interesting display of the heritage of the Karaim people. Departure for airport in the evening.
